India National Cricket Team batter Shubman Gill has been among a few of the talked about players in the ongoing second Test against the Australia National Cricket Team. The second game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is taking place at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.

Shubman Gill made his return to the Indian Team in the ongoing second Test against the Australia National Cricket Team. The young batter missed the first match after the finger injury that he sustained during the match simulation ahead of the opening game.

Shubman Gill made a decent return to the team as he played a vital innings for his team. The right-hander batted at No.3 and looked gorgeous to eyes as he played some breathtaking strokes but he couldn’t carry on the start that he got.

Shubman Gill played an innings of 30 runs as he was removed by Mitchell Starc. The premier batter after that was in the headlines for the fielding blunder that he made during the batting innings of the Australia National Cricket Team.

It was during the second ball of the 26th over when Harshit Rana bowled a full delivery outside off to Nathan McSweeney. The batter went for the drive towards the point region, where Shubman Gill was stationed. The Indiana player bent down on the field.

But the ball slipped under his hands and then nutmegged him. The error made by him cost the India National Cricket Team as the ball raced away to the boundary and invited huge cheers from the crowd.

India got all out for 180 runs in first innings

Coming to Day 1 of the ongoing Test, Australia had a great day with the bat and ball to start the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Opting to bat, India had a bizarre start to the Test match as the centurion from the last game Yashasvi Jaiswal was trapped in lbw by Mitchell Starc on the first ball.

However, after that, KL Rahul (37) and Shubman Gill (31) steadied the ship and played some elegant drives. They added 69 runs for the second wicket before Mitchell Starc brought Australia back into the game yet again with wickets from Rahul and Virat Kohli.

Wickets kept falling after that but Nitish Kumar Reddy (42) fought hard alone and powered India to a total of 180. Starc was the pick of the bowlers as he picked six wickets.

Australia end Day 1 of Adelaide Test on high

Australia had a pretty watchful start even though they lost Usman Khawaja (13). But after that, Nathan McSweeney (38*) and Marnus Labuschagne (20*) got the game under control and made sure to put India under massive pressure. They added an unbeaten 62 runs for the second wicket as Australia ended day one with 86 for one, trailing by 94 runs.
