Star India batter Virat Kohli might not be going through good form with the bat recently but he always finds ways to enjoy the game. Recently, Kohli was seen rolling his arm over in India nets ahead of the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Gabba, Brisbane.
Kohli sent down a few balls, although it is not confirmed which batter he was bowling to. He was looking to warm himself up before going for a few fielding drills. With not much bandwidth between the second and third Test, he doesn’t have much time to get back amongst the runs.

Virat Kohli has been going through poor form since the start of India’s home Test season against Bangladesh. He scored 99 runs in two Tests against Bangladesh at an average of 33. In the subsequent Test series against New Zealand, he scored 93 runs in three Tests at an average of 15.50 with one half-century.
Kohli smashed a magnificent hundred in the second innings of the first Test of the current series in Perth, having scored 100* off 143 balls. It looked like he had regained his form at a crucial time.
However, the twin failures in Adelaide have further raised questions over his technique and ability to score runs against the moving ball. He scored 7 and 11 across both the innings of Adelaide Test and was constantly troubled by some high-quality Australian bowling attack.
He was dismissed by Mitchell Starc in the first innings and was then removed by Scott Boland in the second innings. In both the innings, he was caught behind the wickets off outside edges, which has been his weakness over the years.
Virat Kohli’s numbers in Australia
The 36-year-old is probably the most experienced player for India on Australian soil but is yet to get back to his best. India will hope its talismanic batter to regain form quickly as he possesses the ability to dominate the Australian attack. His form will be very crucial in the upcoming matches.
Virat Kohli has a good record in Australia and enjoys batting there. In 15 Tests, he has scored 1475 runs at an average of 52.67 with 7 hundreds and 4 fifties. But it will be a challenge for him to get back amongst the runs in front of a strong Australian bowling attack.
Series level 1-1 with three Tests to go
Meanwhile, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 is currently level 1-1 with three more Tests to go. The remaining three matches will be played in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney respectively.
The third Test at Gabba, Brisbane will be played from December 14-18. India created history the last time they played a Test on this ground by becoming the first team in 32 years to defeat Australia at the venue.
