The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has reached its conclusion, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly has accepted the hybrid model for the same. However, as per the reports in IANS, it is learned that there is distress in PCB related to the same.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) accepting a hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has made some members of the board unhappy. This is because they were not pleased with the way chairman Mohsin Naqvi accepted the Hybrid model, saying that he shouldn’t have gotten carried away with ICC tactics.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was in a lot of news following the feud between BCCI and PCB

The ICC Champions Trophy was in the news following the feud between BCCI and PCB. The India National Cricket Team declined to travel to Pakistan, and the Mohsin Naqvi-led Board also were strong on their stance that they want to host the entire tournament in Pakistan.

But after many discussions between PCB, BCCI, and ICC, it was learned that the tournament would be played in Hybrid mode with India games along with one semi-final and final to be played in Dubai. The decision was made recently and will be made official soon.

Pakistan has been asked not to visit India for the T20 World Cup 2026 for accepting a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy 2025

To accept the hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan have been asked not to visit India for the T20 World Cup 2026. They will be playing their games in Colombo as they told ICC they, too, won’t be visiting India.

Along with this, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will also be given hosting rights for an ICC women’s event after 2027. But many experts, as well as fans, expressed their displeasure over the same, criticizing chairman Mohsin Naqvi for his decision.

Many former cricketers, including Rashid Latif, Basit Ali, and others, have openly spoken about how playing the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in the hybrid model would not benefit Pakistan. They are of the opinion that it is a plan related to sending Pakistan to India for further events.

Colombo also being considered as an option by the Pakistan Cricket Board to host the India games in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

While the official announcement related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to come soon, it is also learned that the Pakistan Cricket Board is also considering Colombo as an option to host India games. The reports added that ICC isn’t aware of the sudden entry but the PCB has made some internal discussions.

It is also learned that the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be announcing the schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 either on Sunday (15th December) or Monday (16th December). It remains to be seen what choice ICC makes between Dubai or Colombo.
