England National Cricket Team have announced the squad for the upcoming India tour as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Three Lions will be playing three ODIs and five T20Is in India and then will travel to Pakistan for the tournament.

Jos Buttler will be leading the team in the India ODIs, T20Is as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Premier batter Joe Root has made a comeback into the team after a while and will be featuring in the ODIs against Men in Blue and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He isn’t part of the T20Is.

Sam Curran, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes fail to make cut into the England’s squad for the ODI series against India and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

The notable omissions from the squad were Sam Curran, Jonny Bairstow, and the premier all-rounder Ben Stokes. While Bairstow and Curran have been dropped from the ODIs, Ben Stokes wasn’t available for the selection due to his injury.

The all-rounder recently faced a hamstring injury during the Test series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team and was ruled out of the action for some time. The ECB issued an official statement on the same, mentioning that he wasn’t available for selection.

England National Cricket Team will be leaving for India on 17th January, ODI series to be played from 6th February

The Jos Buttler-led side will be leaving for India on 17th January and the three-match ODI series will be a great preparation for them for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. It will also be the first assignment for Brendon McCullum as the head coach of the white-ball team in English colours.

The Jos Buttler-led side in their last 50-over event, which was the ICC World Cup 2023, had a horrible outing. They were eliminated from the group stage itself and finished in the bottom half of the table. They would be keen to improve on that and win both series in India as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The ODI series against India will begin from 6th February in Nagpur. The second match of the series is slated to take place on 9th February in Cuttack. The last game of the series is scheduled for 12th February in Ahmedabad.
