Pakistan’s left-handed batter Mohammad Nawaz and Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib were involved in a heated exchange during the Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 (BPL 2024-25) encounter between Khulna Tigers and Sylhet Strikers on Sunday, January 12.
Khulna Tigers’ batter Mohammad Nawaz got the better of his emotions, as the Sylhet Strikers pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib lost his cool before having some intense war of words during the 17th match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 (BPL 2024-25) at Sylhet.

The incident unfolded on the very first ball of the 17th over of Khulna Tigers’ chase against Sylhet Strikers in the BPL 2024-25 encounter at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. Tanzim delivered a slowed delivery, and it worked, as Nawaz was caught by Zakir Hasan at the fine leg.

As the Pakistani batter departed for 33 runs off 18 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, Tanzim said something to Nawaz while coming close to him. And then the real drama began, as Mohammad Nawaz shoulder barged Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who got furious with the Pakistani batter’s act.
Both the players came back to each other after crossing their paths and had a verbal fight after Nawaz furiously marched towards the Bangladesh pacer. However, the on-field intervened and separated the two players.
However, Nawaz and Tanzim were not ready to end their verbal exchange, but the Sylhet Strikers’ players made sure there was no more drama between the players, taking him towards the dugout.

The incident was just a reminder of the Virat Kohli-Sam Konstas event during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between India and Australia. However, Konstas revealed that Kohli unintentionally shoulder-barged him after the whole episode during the fourth Test at the MCG.
Sylhet Strikers thrash Khulna Tigers by 8 wickets in the BPL 2024-25 clash
Speaking about the BPL 2024-25 match, Sylhet Strikers posted 182/5 on the board in their 20 overs, thanks to stunning innings from Rony Talukdar and Zakir Hasan against Khulna Tigers. While Talukdar made 56 runs off 44 balls, Zakir hit a stunning knock of 75 runs off just 46 balls in Sylhet.
Abu Hider and Ziaur Rahman each scalped two wickets for the Tigers. Chasing the target, the Khulna Tigers had a great start, but the wickets were falling from the other side. William Bosisto (43) and Mohammad Nawaz (33) were the top scorers for the Tigers against the Strikers.
Mahidul Islam Ankon also played a handy knock of 28 runs, but most of the players failed to face even the 15 balls, and eventually, Khulna Tigers suffered the heavy defeat of eight wickets against Sylhet Strikers in the BPL 2024-25 match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Reece Topley, and Ruyel Miah have all taken two wickets each while Nahidul Islam has taken one wicket to contribute to Sylhet Strikers’ massive win over the Khulna Tigers. Notably, Sylhet Strikers will next face Chittagong Kings in the 19th Match of the Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on January 13.
