Pakistan National Cricket Team batter Fakhar Zaman came up with the massive statement after the interim white-ball coach Aaqib Javed mentioned that the batter wasn’t fit. The left-hander claimed that he is fit, which is why he is playing in the Champions Cup.
Pakistan National Cricket Team batter Fakhar Zaman has been kept on the sidelines even though he has been pretty consistent for the team. The batter was dropped from the team after he tweeted in sympathy for Babar Azam, who was dropped from Test team.
Fakhar Zaman was not given the central contract for the 2024/25 season by the Pakistan Cricket Board
Fakhar Zaman was not even given the central contract for the 2024/25 season by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Not only this, he was also not named in the team’s limited overs series against the Australia National Cricket Team and the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team.
Fakhar Zaman’s name has been in the news for a very long time now. Many fans and pundits have lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as well as the team management for dropping a match-winner like Zaman, especially with the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 around the corner.
He had fitness issues, but if he improves, the selection committee will definitely reconsider him – Pakistan interim batting coach Aaqib Javed on Fakhar Zaman
Amid all the criticism, Pakistan interim batting coach Aaqib Javed made a massive statement on Fakhar Zaman. He claimed that the batter is not fit and once he is at 100%, he will be reconsidered for the selection in the white-ball team.
“Fakhar is a match-winning player. He had fitness issues, but if he improves, the selection committee will definitely reconsider him,” he was quoted as saying by Samaa TV.
“I’m fit, and that’s why I’m playing, and if there is a chance, I will play – Fakhar Zaman
Fakhar Zaman, however, came up with a different statement altogether. He said that he is fit, and that’s why he is playing in the Champions Cup T20. He added that if he is given a chance, he will be happy to play for Pakistan.
“I’m fit, and that’s why I’m playing, and if there is a chance, I will play. I started my career at the Champions Trophy, and I’m thankful that my performances were good and we won matches there. And in this Champions Trophy, my only effort will be to play well and win games.”

Fakhar Zaman wasn’t even named in the squad for the South Africa tour. But the batter has been putting hard yards in domestic cricket. It remains to be seen if the batter will be back in the mix in the National setup. The left-hander was one of the main reasons why Pakistan won the tournament last time. He slammed a century in the final and helped his team defeat India.
