Cartwright is the Heartbeat of Our Team – Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Stoinis described the moment he saw teammate Hilton Cartwright injured during the Stars’ loss to the Perth Scorchers as “awful.” Stoinis expressed concern over Cartwright’s injury on the team, as he is highly respected within the squad and Western Australia.
“We just got a quick update – they’ve ruled out concussion and that sort of thing but he’s going to hospital for some scans on his neck. They are a bit worried. So fingers crossed he’s alright,” Stoinis told reporters post-match.
“He’s a heartbeat of our team – but not only us, with Western Australia and the Scorchers, he’s a very well-respected guy. Hopefully he’s alright. It did definitely put a dampener on the mood of the night – it’s just hard to switch that off. We ran there pretty quick to see him but there’s nothing you can really do,” Stoinis explained.

The Marcus Stoinis-led team will take on Brisbane Heat in their next match at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday, December 18. They hope to open their account in the points table with a win in the upcoming match.
Meanwhile, the Perth Scorchers, who are at the top of the table, will lock horns with the Hobart Hurricanes in their second match at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart on Saturday, Dec 21.
