The matter surrounding the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to reach a conclusion but the matter has been stuck in the final stages. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to host the meeting but so far it has been postponed twice.

Originally, the meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) was all set to take place on Thursday (5th December). However, the meeting was postponed to Saturday (7th December). It was expected that the decision would come out today but the same fate unfolded as the meeting yet again was postponed.

As per the reports in Pakistan media, it is learned that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to respond to demands from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This is the main reason behind the ICC meeting related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was postponed yet again.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed to play the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in the Hybrid model. But they have kept some demands and only if BCCI and the ICC accept those demands, the Pakistan governing body will be playing the tournament in the two-nation formula.

As per the various media reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made four demands in order to accept the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in the hybrid model. They have asked for all the ICC events in India to be staged in a hybrid model till 2027 as they too don’t want to travel to India.

This will be a massive demand to accept for the BCCI as well as the ICC. There are quite a few ICC tournaments that are all set to be played in India. India will be hosting the Women’s World Cup, and will also be staging the 2026 T20 World Cup in their own backyard along with the Asia Cup next year as well.

As per the various media reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has demanded a greater share of the revenue from its current 5.75% which is annually around USD 35 million. This all will be the call of the International Cricket Council (ICC) If they want to do it in order to get ICC Champions Trophy 2025 done in the Hybrid model.

ICC will make an official announcement once matters are resolved

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also has demanded a tri-series involving them, India, and a third country at a neutral venue, most likely UAE. But various reports have claimed that ICC and the BCCI don’t seem to be okay with the idea and the proposal is all set to be rejected.

The latest reports in Pakistan media claimed that India has not yet responded, while Pakistan has also not backed down from its demands. There is hope that the matters will be resolved soon. As soon as the matters are resolved an official announcement will be made.
