PCB Chairman Reveals India Offered Financial Compensation for Tournament
The PCB chairman revealed that India had offered financial compensation to Pakistan if their team did not travel for the tournament. However, Pakistan rejected this offer, prioritizing national pride over monetary considerations.
The PCB proposed a new model ensuring that for the next three years, neither India nor Pakistan would host ICC teams from the other country.

“We Will Leave No Stone Unturned in Preserving the Prestige of This Event” – Mohsin Naqvi
“From day one, our focus has been on ensuring success for Pakistan and cricket. We will leave no stone unturned in preserving the prestige of this event. All participating teams will receive a warm welcome,” said Naqvi.
“Cricket is a sport loved by millions, and we believe it should remain free from politics,” he added.
Under the new arrangement, India will play their matches in the UAE for the Champions Trophy rather than traveling to Pakistan. Similarly, for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan’s matches, including the Indo-Pak clash, will be held in Sri Lanka, as Pakistan will not travel to India for the event.
