The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squads of the India Women’s National Cricket Team for the white-ball series against the West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team. The two teams will be locking horns with each other in the three-match T20I and three-match ODI series.

The BCCI has named 15-member squads for both the series with Harmanpreet Kaur leading the team. The skipper along with vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, Uma Chetry, Titas Sadhu, Deepti Sharma, Saima Thakor, Renuka Singh Thakur, Minnu Mani, and Priya Mishra will be playing both the series.

Nandini Kashyap, Sajana Sajeevan, Raghvi Bist, and Radha Yadav will be part of the T20I series and won’t be featuring in ODIs. While Pratika Rawal, Tejal Hasabnis, and Tanuja Kanwer have been selected for the 50-over series and won’t be playing the three-match T20I series against the West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team.

Yastika Bhatia, Shreyanka Patil and Priya Punia missed out on both the squads due to injuries. The BCCI issued an official statement on the trio and mentioned: “Ms. Yastika Bhatia, Ms. Shreyanka Patil & Ms. Priya Punia were injured and were unavailable for selection”

India vs West Indies schedule

The West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team tour to India will begin with the three-match T20I series. The first match will be played on Sunday (15th December), followed by the second and third games to be played on Tuesday (17th December) and Thursday (19th December). All three games will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

After that, the ODI series will be played from Sunday (22nd December). The second game of the series between India and West Indies is scheduled to be played on Tuesday (24th December), followed by the last match of the series to be played on Friday (27th December). All the three games will be played at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

India will be entering into the series after being thrashed in Australia

India Women’s National Cricket Team will be entering into the series on the back of the shambolic loss against the Australia Women’s National Cricket Team. They faced a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of the opposition down under and were criticised a lot for their poor performances.

They would be hoping to turn things around in the upcoming series against the West Indies Women’s National Cricket Team. They would be hoping to win both the series and give their fans something to cheer about.
