India National Cricket Team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has resumed bowling for the first time after getting injured in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The premier pacer shared glimpses of his practice session on his social media account on Thursday (27th February).
India National Cricket Team pacer Jasprit Bumrah suffered a back injury during the last game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The match took place at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney, where the pacer got injured in the first innings of the match.
Bumrah, who had bowled around 140 overs in the first four games of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, could bowl just 10 overs in the last game. The fast bowler experienced pain in his back and then was deemed unfit to the part in the rest of the game.

The injury turned out to be much worse than expected as Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the England series and also the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The fast bowler initially was named in the squad for the tournament but wasn’t deemed fit to take part in the tournament.
After almost two months of his injury, Bumrah is back to the bowling. The fast bowler shared the video on his Instagram account, where he can be seen bowling right on the target and hitting the stumps. He posted the video with the caption: “Progress every day”.

Bumrah was recently seen attending the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The fast bowler ahead of the match also was honored by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for his achievements in 2024.
Bumrah received the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the Cricketer of the Year and the Test Player of the Year award. The premier fast bowler was given awards by the ICC Chairman Jay Shah ahead of the start of the match against the Pakistan National Cricket Team.
Bumrah received awards for his magical efforts with the ball in 2024. The fast bowler picked 71 wickets in the Tests and also won the Player of the Tournament in the ICC T20 World 2024, where he picked 15 wickets and helped India National Cricket Team win the event.
Bumrah’s return to bowling will be a massive boost for Mumbai Indians. The premier fast bowler is expected to make a comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The league is all set to begin on 22nd March, and Mumbai will open their campaign against Chennai Super Kings on 23rd March.
