After the Day-Night Test ended on the first session on Day 3 in Adelaide, it is being said that Mohammed Shami will join the Indian cricket team in Australia ahead of the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. This match will be played at The Gabba, Brisbane, from December 14.

Rohit Sharma shares update on Mohammed Shami’s fitness
Meanwhile, after India’s loss in Adelaide, Rohit Sharma shared an update on Mohammed Shami’s fitness, revealing that swelling in the knee during the Syed Mushtaq Ali 2024-25 has impacted his Test preparation. The Indian skipper added that they are being extra cautious to ensure Shamo is fully ready before returning to action in the toughest format of the game.
Furthermore, Rohit also revealed that the professional staff are closely monitoring the situation, assessing recovery after games and physical effort. He noted that the management is focused on avoiding any setbacks and ensuring Shami is in the best condition before joining the Indian team.

Notably, Shami was sidelined since the 2023 ODI World Cup final due to an ankle injury that required surgery, keeping him out of action for more than 12 months, but he made his return last month in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.
