India National Cricket Team pacer Mohammed Siraj and the Australia National Cricket Team batter Travis Head have been penalized for their verbal spat during the second Test. The match between the teams took place at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.
Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head hogged the headlines after the duo shared a heated exchange of words during the second Test between India and Australia. After the fast bowler removed the batter, he gave an aggressive send-off, which wasn’t taken well by the batter.
Mohammed Siraj was at his brutal best after he removed the batter, and Head, in response, also shared harsh words. Following that, the fast bowler gestured for the batter to leave the ground, and their spat became the major talking point of the second Test between India and Australia.

For their antics, ICC has decided to go hard on them. Mohammed Siraj has been penalized 20% of his match fee after being found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. This relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon dismissal.”
Head, on the other hand, was found guilty of breaching Article 2.13 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. This is related to “abuse of a player, player support personnel, umpire or match referee during an international match.”

Not only this, both Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head also received one demerit point each on their disciplinary records. This was the first offence for both players in the last 24 months. Both the players admitted their offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle.
Coming to the match between India and Australia in Adelaide, it was the hosts who came up with the sensational effort with the bat and ball. They won the game by a massive margin of 10 wickets and staged a dominating comeback, having lost the first match of the series in Perth.

Head was the hero for the Australia National Cricket Team with the bat. The batter played an innings of 140 runs off 141 balls. He hit 14 fours and 4 sixes in his innings, batting with a strike rate of around 100. His innings allowed Australia to take a lead of over 157 first innings.
India struggled to get going with the bat in both innings as they set a target of 19 runs for Australia to chase. They did it inside 4 overs and made sure that they level the series with three more games going into the series. The next game of the series will be played at the Brisbane in Gabba from Saturday (14th Saturday).
