Robin Minz MS Dhoni

Mumbai Indians recruit Robin Minz is looking in scintillating form with the bat ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The young wicketkeeper-batter from Jharkhand was signed by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

He arrived in the nets to hit every ball out of the park. In one of his shots, Robin Minz replicated the great MS Dhoni, who also hails from Jharkhand. Minz smashed a six towards the leg-side and didn’t even bother to look at the ball.

Not only this shot, he played a no. of eye-catching shots and seemed to be middling all of them. The balls went a long way after being hit as the left-hander displayed his full range of strokes during the net session.

His main range was towards the midwicket and long-on region as he hardly mistimed any shot. The youngster’s bat flow was particularly outstanding, which was allowing him to get so much power behind his shots.

Minz didn’t play any cheeky shots and looked to play in the V just like MS Dhoni used to do. Being from the same state as Dhoni, Minz admires the legendary India captain and wants to replicate his success one day.

Robin Minz IPL 2025 price

Robin Minz was signed by Mumbai Indians for INR 65 lakh in the IPL 2025 auction. He came into the auction with a base price of INR 30 lakh. Despite not having too much experience of playing domestic T20 cricket, he has been spotted as a potential talent going forward.

Minz was signed by Gujarat Titans last year for a whopping amount of INR 3.6 crore. However, he didn’t play a game after being ruled out of the whole IPL 2024 season due to an unfortunate bike accident.

The left-hander will be aiming to put the disappointment by performing well in the upcoming season. He is one of the three wicketkeepers in the Mumbai Indians squad alongside Ryan Rickelton and Krishnan Srijith.

While it seems difficult for him to find a place in the Playing XI for the first match, Robin Minz will have a role to play sometime during this season. He can also be used as an impact player and can make a difference with the bat.

Mumbai Indians opening match of IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians will play Chennai Super Kings in their IPL 2025 opener in Chennai on March 23. Robin Minz will be playing against his inspiration MS Dhoni in this game. Both MI and CSK are the five-time IPL champions and the most successful teams in the history of the league.

However, Mumbai Indians haven’t been at their best in the last few years. Their last title win came in 2020 under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. They finished last in the points table last year under Hardik Pandya and will be aiming to turn around their campaign this year.
