In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Cricket Pakistan, it is learned that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declined the hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This now paves the way for the International Cricket Council to move the tournament out of Pakistan.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) held a meeting related to the Champions Trophy. It is learned that the hybrid model was proposed to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), but they decided against it as they are strong on their stance to host an entire event in Pakistan.

The ICC Champions Trophy has been posting a different kind of challenge to the International Cricket Council. This is because both the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have been involved in it and have gone in opposite directions.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) didn’t get clearance from the Indian government to travel to Pakistan. The Indian body passed on the same message to the International Cricket Council (ICC), who then conveyed the sane to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) didn’t agree to that and asked the ICC to give BCCI a written explanation for their decision. They claimed that they want to host the entire ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in their backyard completely.

This is because there has been unrest in Pakistan, and this has also seen Sri Lanka A pulling out of their tour midway, and not only India but also other countries have expressed their concerns over the same.

The reports added that amid the unrest ICC might tell Pakistan to move the ICC Champions Trophy out of Pakistan completely. It was reported that this might force them to accept the hybrid model, according to which Indian games will be played outside of Pakistan.

But with Pakistan not agreeing to the hybrid model, there is a massive chance that the ICC Champions Trophy might be played out of Pakistan. This also means that the Mohammad Rizwan-led side might pull out of the tournament, and the event will be played without the defending champions.

It remains to be seen what will be the decision related to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is scheduled to take place in February-March next year. After the meeting on the 29th, the ICC is all set to release the schedule of the tournament.
