Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad were involved in the bidding war for INR 20.75 crore, and the hammer went down in favor of the Lucknow-based franchise. It was then when auctioneer Mallika Sagar asked the Delhi Capitals (DC) if they wanted to use the Right to Match Card.

Rishabh Pant, who captained Delhi Capitals in the IPL, has played a massive role in the league. The keeper-batter has played 111 games in the tournament and has also mustered 3284 runs at an average strike rate of 35.31 and 148.93, respectively. He also has hit 18 fifties and one ton.
