Marco Jansen has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 1.5 crore. The South Africa allrounder played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last edition of the IPL.
His journey in the IPL began with Mumbai Indians in 2021. In his debut season, Jansen played only 2 games and picked up 2 wickets before being released by the Mumbai-based outfit. From the 2022 edition, he has been playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In his first season with the Hyderabad-based team, Jansen played 8 games and picked up 7 wickets. In IPL 2023, he played 8 games once again and picked up 10 wickets. In IPL 2024, he struggled to find a place in the playing eleven regularly as he played only 3 games and picked up a wicket.
Overall in T20s, Jansen has played 86 games so far and has made an impact with both bat and ball. He has picked up 93 wickets and scored 703 runs with the help of four half-centuries. Recently, he also scored a whirlwind fifty while playing for South Africa against India during the four-match T20I series.
Marco Jansen Bought By Punjab Kings For INR 7 crore at IPL Auction 2025
Punjab Kings have signed up Marco Jansen for INR 7 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The Punjab-based outfit secured the allrounder’s services after a fierce bidding war with Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.
Mumbai Indians made the first bid before Punjab Kings joined the race. Gujarat Titans joined the race at 2.80 crore. The Kings and the Titans made it clear that they wanted the Proteas star as they kept outbidding each other. In the end, Punjab Kings made the winning bid.
