South Africa star Faf du Plessis was fortunate to avoid a serious injury after colliding with a ballboy during a game in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 League.
The incident took place during the game between Morrison Samp Army and Delhi Bulls. Faf du Plessis is plying his trade for Morrison Samp Army in the competition. The former South Africa star was fielding when the mishap happened.

Delhi Bulls’ Tim David hit the ball towards extra cover and Faf du Plessis attempted to stop the ball from crossing the boundary. The veteran batsman was fielding at long off and ran towards his left to stop the ball. However, he could not stop the ball from reaching the boundary.
Things then went from bad to worse for Faf du Plessis as he ended up falling over the hoarding board after colliding with the ballboy. The ballboy was waiting for the ball to cross the boundary rope and leaned down a bit to catch the ball.
In doing so, he got in the way of a charging du Plessis. Du Plessis first collided with the ballboy before falling over the hoardings. The Proteas great looked shocked after the incident but was fortunate to not suffer any serious injury. He did not say anything to the boy but his expression made it clear that he was absolutely miffed.

Talking about the game, Morrison Samp Army beat Delhi Bulls by two runs in a thrilling clash. Du Plessis has been in stunning form in the competition. In 5 games so far, he has scored 191 runs at a strike rate of 238.75.
Delhi Capitals hire the former RCB skipper
Meanwhile, du Plessis recently earned another IPL contract with Delhi Capitals securing his services. The Capitals bought him at his base price of INR 2 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Du Plessis played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the last season of the IPL.
Delhi Capitals will be his fourth IPL team. His IPL journey began with Chennai Super Kings before he played for Rising Pune Supergiant when Chennai Super Kings were suspended for two years. After the suspension was over, du Plessis played for the Super Kings once again before joining Bengaluru in 2022.
