Travis Head Jasprit Bumrah Virat Kohli

Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah produced a brilliant delivery to break a stubborn stand between Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh during the second innings of the Perth Test between Australia and India.

Bumrah bowled a back-of-a-length ball outside off stump as Travis Head tried to play a drive through the covers off the back foot without moving his feet. However, he only managed to get an outside edge through to the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant for a simple catch.

Jasprit Bumrah was pumped up after the dismissal as he roared before pumping his fists with full aggression in front of Head. Virat Kohli too joined the party from the second slip and roared to give a fiery send-off to the batter.

It was a magnificent piece of bowling from India’s stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah, who stepped up to provide his team a vital breakthrough. The wicket was a result of some great planning and execution.

Jasprit Bumrah had perfectly set-up Head for this dismissal. The last ball was a short one and it pushed the batter onto the back-foot. As a result, he tried to drive the next ball through the covers without moving his feet and ultimately got an outside edge.

Travis Head’s wonderful knock

Travis Head was dismissed for a well-made 89. He scored these runs off just 101 balls with 8 fours. He batted with aggressive intent and was looking to take the game to the Indian bowlers. He was looking extremely dangerous at one time.

He came in to bat when Australia were in deep trouble at 17-4. Australia had just lost Usman Khawaja and their innings was going nowhere. Head joined Steve Smith at the crease and both of them formed a useful partnership of 62 runs before Smith was dismissed.

Head was looking in sublime form but Bumrah was too good for him. It ended a wonderful partnership between Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh. Both of them stitched together a counter-attacking partnership of 82 runs off just 85 balls. Marsh was later dismissed by the debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy for 47 as he became his maiden Test wicket.

Great match for Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli

Jasprit Bumrah is having a great Test match. He picked up a magnificent five-wicket haul in the first innings and then made a huge impact in the second innings as well. His decisions as a captain on the field were spot on as well.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli too had a significant knock under his belt and marked his return to form. Kohli scored an unbeaten 100 off 143 balls in the second innings which helped India post a formidable total for the Aussies.
