Star Indian batter Virat Kohli’s wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma celebrated her husband’s century during the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. Anushka Sharma’s celebration after Virat’s Test century quickly went viral on social media platforms across the internet.
Virat completed his 30th Test hundred during the series opener at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday, November 24. The right-handed batter scored 100 runs off 143 balls, including eight boundaries and two sixes. Team India skipper Jasprit Bumrah declared the innings at a massive total of 487/6.

The 36-year-old batter reached his 81st international ton with a boundary off Marnus Labuschagne in the final session on day three. Kohli’s century came at a crucial time as he had been going through a lean patch in Tests.
He celebrated the century alongside his wife Anushka Sharma and a supportive crowd. Kohli was seen blowing kisses to his wife multiple times and they both looked delighted.

Anushka Has Been Right By My Side – Virat Kohli
Speaking to a broadcaster during the innings break, Virat Kohli expressed his gratitude for the support of his wife, Anushka Sharma, who has been with him through difficult times. Kohli acknowledged her understanding of the struggles he faces when not performing well for his team.
“Yeah looks Anushka has been right by my side. She knows everything what goes behind the scenes in my room. She knows how it feels like as I was unable to get runs for my team. I take a lot of pride playing for my country and I am really happy to get one here in front of her,” Kohli said, as quoted by CREX.

The Delhi-born cricketer now has seven centuries in Australia, placing him at the top among Indian batters for most Test centuries in the country. Kohli also equaled Sunil Gavaskar’s record for the most Test hundreds in an away country for India. Notably, this was his seventh century against Australia in Tests.

India set Australia a massive target of 534 runs to win. Australia lost early wickets on Day 3, with Jasprit Bumrah dismissing Nathan McSweeney on the fourth ball. Mohammed Siraj then removed nightwatchman Pat Cummins. Marnus Labuschagne was also dismissed by Bumrah, leaving Australia at 12/3.
