The India national cricket team is currently playing the warm-up match against Prime Minister XI in preparation for the second Test match against Australia. However, senior Indian players Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah were absent from the practice match, but they were captured in videos by a pair of fans.
After Day 1 of the warm-up match was washed out, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first at the Manuka Oval on Sunday, December 1. The Indian bowlers got an opportunity to test themselves with the pink ball against the Prime Minister’s XI, a second-string Australian side.

Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli were seen practicing together in the nets at the Manuka Oval ahead of the second Test in Adelaide. Bumrah bowled at full intensity with the pink ball, while Kohli faced him with defensive strokes. Fan-captured videos of their intense session have gone viral on the internet.

Virat Kohli and Bumrah were instrumental in India’s 295-run victory in the first Test in Perth. Bumrah took eight wickets, and Kohli scored an unbeaten century in the second innings. India will be looking to continue their momentum and secure a 2-0 lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia.
Kohli had a disappointing five-run dismissal in the first innings of the Perth Test but made a strong comeback in the second innings. He scored his 30th Test century and his seventh in Australia. Kohli could become the first visiting player to score 10 Test centuries in Australia with four matches left.
Harshit Rana Picks Up Four Wickets for India in Practice Match
In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling. Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana later came to bowl in the practice match. The Australian PM XI was dismissed for 240 in 43.2 overs. Harshit Rana secured four wickets, and Akash Deep picked up two wickets.
KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the batting for India during the run chase. Shubman Gill batted at number three, while skipper Rohit Sharma came in at number four but was dismissed for just three runs. It remains uncertain whether Virat Kohli will bat during the chase of 241 runs in 46 overs.
Sam Konstas Hits Impressive Century for Australia PM XI
Sam Konstas impressed with a brilliant century for the PM-XI against India. He played an aggressive knock at the top of the order. The young batter dominated Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana, especially in the first half of his innings. Konstas is now eyeing a potential Test debut with Nathan McSweeney struggling.
