Mumbai batter Prithvi Shaw has hit out at the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for their allegations against the batter. This all came after the young batter was dropped from the team’s squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25.
The Mumbai Cricket Association recently named the Mumbai squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. Young batter Prithvi Shaw was missing from the squad, and the omission didn’t go well with him as he lashed out at the association for his snub for the 50-over tournament.

Shaw posted his List A record on social media and questioned his snub from the team. He also mentioned what else he needs to see, adding that he will be making a comeback no matter what happens against him.
After Shaw’s post, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) brushed off the batter’s emotional post. An MCA official told PTI that the player has been dropped from the team on disciplinary grounds as well as fitness issues, which came into notice during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024.
The official mentioned that Shaw missed training sessions regularly after showing up at the team hotel at “six in the morning” and being out for most of the night. Also, some of the senior members of the team complained about the batter related to his attitude.

Shaw, of late, has come under the massive scanner for his off-field antics as well as on-field performances. In the domestic circuit this year, it was a terrible outing for him and selectors had every right to drop him for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 based on the form.
Prithvi Shaw was torrid with the bat in the domestic season for Mumbai, failing to score in the Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
He was dropped from the squad midway through the Ranji Trophy after playing 4 games in which he scored 59 runs. In Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25, he mustered 197 runs at an average of 21.88 with the best of 49 runs, which came against Vidarbha in the quarterfinal.
Shaw also went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. The batter has been witnessing a massive downfall in the game. He was among the few batters to have hit a century on Test debut, but after that, things haven’t been right for him at all.
He last played for India in 2021 and now he isn’t anywhere near in the scenes. The comeback road will be very tough for him and it remains to be seen if he will be able to make a comeback or not.
