Team India captain Rohit Sharma revealed the reason why fans were banned from attending the team’s practice sessions during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT 2024-25) in Australia. Rohit Sharma stated that the Indian team didn’t want to leak their tactics and plans, calling net sessions very private.
India decided to ban open training sessions for the rest of the series due to the unruly conduct of the general public during their practice session in Adelaide. Around 5,000 spectators had gathered to watch the team, but constant noise and requests for photos led the management to enforce the ban.
The Net Sessions Are Very Private – Rohit Sharma
Speaking to reporters, Rohit Sharma opened up about banning fans from attending their practice sessions in Australia. Sharma said that net sessions are private, with many discussions and tactics taking place. He pointed out that this was the first time they had seen such a large crowd during training.
“You know, the net sessions are very private, and this was the first time ever I saw so many people during the nets. And when you’re training, when you’re practising, there are a lot of conversation that happens, and those conversations are very private. We don’t want anyone to hear those conversations. It is as simple as that because there’s a lot of planning,” Rohit said in the press conference.
