Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Smriti Mandhana made history by scoring the fastest ODI century by an Indian woman during the third ODI against Ireland in Rajkot. Smriti Mandhana, who is captaining the national cricket team, completed her 10th ODI century in Rajkot on Wednesday (January 15).
India won the toss and chose to bat first during the third ODI match at the Niranjan Shah Stadium. Both Mandhana and Pratika Rawal dominated the Ireland bowlers. The left-handed batter, who had scores of 41 and 73 in the previous two ODIs, continued her strong form by scoring her first century of the year.
Smriti Mandhana Breaks the Record for Fastest ODI Century by an Indian Woman
Mandhana set a new record for the fastest ODI century by an Indian woman. She reached the milestone off just 70 balls, surpassing Harmanpreet Kaur’s previous record of 87 balls, which was set against South Africa in 2024. Mandhana hit nine boundaries and four sixes to reach three figures.

Mandhana Becomes First Indian Woman to Score 10 ODI Hundreds
Mandhana also became the first Indian woman cricketer to score 10 ODI centuries. Overall, she reached a joint-third position on the all-time list, alongside Australia’s Tammy Beaumont.
Prior to the match, Mandhana was tied for the fourth spot with players like Chamari Athapaththu, Charlotte Edwards, and Nat Sciver-Brunt. The record for the most centuries in Women’s ODIs is held by Meg Lanning with 15 centuries, followed by Suzie Bates with 10.

Smriti scored 135 off 80 balls with a strike rate of 168.75, including 12 fours and seven sixes. She equaled Harmanpreet Kaur’s record for the most sixes in an ODI innings by an Indian woman. Mandhana now shares the record with Harmanpreet for the most sixes (52) in Women’s ODIs for India.
