Pat Cummins has once again shone bright as captain as he led Australia to a memorable yet dominating 10-wicket comeback victory against India in the second Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on Sunday (December 8).

Cummins led the Australia cricket team from the front by taking seven wickets to contribute significantly to the team’s commanding win over Team India to level the ongoing five-match Test series 1-1 after a crushing 295-run defeat in the opening Test in Perth.

With a 10-wicket win over India at the Adelaide Oval, Australia extended their record in pink-ball Tests to 12-1 and remained unbeaten in the Day-Night Test in Adelaide. After the match, Pat Cummins hailed his Australian team for their efforts to make a comeback in grand fashion against India.

Cummins had a special mention for Mitchell Starc (6/48 and 2/60), Player of the Match Travis Head (140 runs), and Scott Boland (2/54 and 3/51) for their massive contribution to the hosts’ big win over India in the second Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Adelaide on Sunday.

Pat Cummins said at the post-match presentation: “That’s a great week. We were far from the team we wanted to be in Perth, but this was good. Good to get a few wickets.”

Speaking on bowling under lights at the Adelaide Oval, the ace Australian pacer said that the main thing was the lead, and the timing was really good time to bowl as well. Cummins noted that the ball does a bit more under lights but reiterated that the big thing was getting a big lead against India.

On Scott Boland, Cummins stated, “Scotty just fitted in straightaway, like he always does. He probes with every ball, top of off. He is unbelievable.” The Australian skipper signed off by saying that they are hoping that Josh Hazlewood will be back in action next week for the Gabba Test.

Travis Head dazzled with a brilliant 140, supported by Marnus Labuschagne’s fifty, giving Australia a 157-run lead in the first innings against India in Adelaide.

Under twilight conditions, Australia’s bowlers decimated India’s lineup, as they bowled out for just 175 runs, and the hosts later chased down 19 runs in 20 balls to win the Day-Night Test match by 10 wickets and level the ongoing five-match Test series 1-1.
