Strikers struggle but lower order fights back
Adelaide Strikers, batting first after losing the toss, struggled to build partnerships on a challenging Adelaide Oval pitch. After the early dismissals of Lynn (1 off 3), Pope (1 off 5) and Weatherald (8 off 8), D’Arcy Short (22 off 19) and Alex Ross (20 off 15) attempted to stabilize the Srikers’ innings with brief but valuable contributions. However, their dismissals further deepened the crisis as they found themselves teetering at 58/8.
The lower order, led by Brendan Doggett and Cameron Boyce, mounted a spirited recovery. Doggett, primarily known for his bowling, played a remarkable knock of 47 not out off 39 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes.
