Jaker Ali has not only made the headlines for his stunning batting but also for his sportsmanship, but at the same time, for his frustration during the third and final T20I match between Bangladesh and West Indies at the Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown, St. Vincent.

Well, run-outs can sometimes create funny situations, often caused by confusion, miscommunication, or just bad luck on the field, but it is quite rare that a batter returns to the field after being run out. This unusual event took place during the third T20I in Kingstown, and Jaker was part of this rarest thing on Friday (December 20).

After hitting a shot to mid-wicket, West Indies bowler Obed McCoy dived for a catch but injured his shoulder. Although Jaker and Shamim Hossain completed two runs, and they had the chance to get one more run, Ali decided not to run for the third when he saw McCoy was hurt.

His gesture was praised by commentators and fans for showing excellent sportsmanship. And then in the very next over, Ali was seen venting out his frustration after a bizarre mix-up with Shamim. During the 15th over of the match, Roston Chase delivered a flat ball around the off stump.

Jaker Ali pushed the ball gently to the onside and quickly sprinted for a couple of runs. However, while Ali was returning for the second run, his partner Shamim Hossain got distracted and kept watching the ball.

Sensing the great opportunity, West Indies’ wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran quickly sprinted toward the square leg region and made an accurate throw to Roston Chase at the non-striker’s end. Chase completed the run-out at the non-striker’s end with Shamim and Ali both reaching the same end.

Initially, it appeared that Jaker Ali was the one dismissed, and he was visibly frustrated with the turn of events. He was seen expressing his anger and unhappiness about the situation. However, after reviewing the replay, it was clear that Shamim Hossain’s bat was outside the crease and in the air while Jaker had just managed to ground his bat in time.

As a result, Jaker Ali was called back to the crease, and Shamim was run out for just 2 runs, and now the clip of the brain fade moment is all over the internet. Windies Cricket shared a clip of the mix-up on their official X handle with the caption: “A comedy of errors leads to a run out.”

Notably, Jaker played a sensational knock of an unbeaten 72 runs off just 41 balls studded with three boundaries and six sixes to help Bangladesh post 189/7 on the board.

Later, the West Indies were bowled out for just 109 runs inside 17 overs, thanks to Rishad Hossain’s three-wicket haul, as Bangladesh crushed the hosts by 80 runs in the final game to clean sweep the T20I series 3-0.
