Sydney Thunder batter Sam Konstas has been the lone warrior for his team in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 match against the Perth Scorchers. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Sydney Showdown Stadium in Sydney.
Sam Konstas, who set the stage on fire during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, has continued his good form with the bat and has been proving his prowess with the bat in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 for his team Sydney Thunder.
Sam Konstas, in the the ongoing match against Perth Scorchers, has played an extremely mature innings and is making sure that he stays there till the end for his team. He has looked unfazed by the wickets falling at the other end and is making sure he scores quick runs for his team as well.
During the start of his innings, Sam Konstas was also at the receiving end of the nasty blow. On the 3rd ball of the 8th over, Sam Billings advanced down the track against Mahli Beardman. But he went too hard and hit it straight to Ashton Turner at mid-off.
Konstas, at the non-striker’s end, took a few steps ahead to take a quick single. However, Ashton Turner, at mid-off, came up with the bullet throw. He missed the stumps, but the ball went on to hit the Sydney Thunder batter in the ribs as he looked in pain with the impact of the ball.

Sam Konstas slams a solid half-century for the Sydney Thunder, and ends with an innings of 53 runs off 42 balls
Sam Konstas slammed a solid half-century for the Sydney Thunder in the ongoing match. Despite the wickets falling at the other end, the batter looked in superb touch and made sure that his team went past over 100 runs, which at one stage looked impossible.
Sam Konstas ended with an inning of 53 runs off 42 balls. He batted with a strike rate of around 127 and also slammed 5 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Apart from him and Chris Green, no other batter went past the 20-run mark, which says a lot about the poor outing of the team.
For Perth Scorchers, Cooper Connolly has been one of the performers with the ball. Apart from his economical spell with the ball, he removed Sam Billings and what caught the attention of many was he brought a unique celebration after taking the wicket.
Connolly fired in the arm and Billings backed away a bit too much in an attempt to force it into the off-side. The ball skidded off and hit the top of the leg stump after pitching. He then came up with the iconic Bow and arrow celebration.
