India, led by Mohamed Amaan, were the favorites to win the U-19 Asia Cup final. However, they suffered a 59-run defeat to Bangladesh at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, December 8. The Men in Blue failed to chase down a modest target of 199 and missed the chance to secure the trophy.

The crowd supported Bangladesh throughout the U-19 Asia Cup final in Dubai. They created an electrifying atmosphere with loud chants of “Allahu Akbar” echoing through the stadium.
When standing on the cusp of a famous win, Bangladesh skipper encouraged the crowd to continue chanting. The incident even drew attention from the commentators, who discussed it during the game.
Former Sri Lanka off-break bowler Roshan Abeysinghe said, “Is he trying to jee up the crowd? Wow. Well done.”
On the other hand, former India pacer Atul Wassan said, “They are all showmen. They know how to play to the galleries. This is what maturity and coming of age means.”

Iqbal Hossain Emon Named Player of the Match for His Bowling Performance in Final
Speaking of the U19 Asia Cup final, India won the toss and opted to field first. Bangladesh was bowled out for 198 runs in 49.1 overs. Md Rizan Hossan (47), Mohammad Shihab James (40), and Md Farid Hasan Faysal (39) contributed useful runs.
For India, Yudhajit Guha, Chetan Sharma, and Hardik Raj each secured two wickets. At the halfway point, the modest target seemed achievable for India.
Indian batting faltered during the chase, as no batter stepped up on the big day. Openers Ayush Mhatre (1) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (9) fell cheaply. India lost wickets at regular intervals and was quickly reduced to 92/7 by the 27th over.
Skipper Mohamed Amaan (26) showed resistance, but his dismissal in the 32nd over sealed Team India’s fate. Bangladesh bowled out India for 139 runs in under 36 overs, securing a 59-run victory to clinch their second consecutive Asia Cup title.
Iqbal Hossain Emon and Md Azizul Hakim Tamim both took three wickets each for Bangladesh in the final. Emon was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament.
He finished as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 13 wickets from five matches. His teammate, Al Fahad, secured second place with 12 wickets, while India’s Chetan Sharma is in third place with nine wickets.
