India captain Rohit Sharma has a history of forgetting several things in the past. Rohit might be a great batter but he has a habit of forgetting important things while travelling with the team.

When Rohit was seen waiting in the team bus after Team India arrived in Dubai for the Champions Trophy, it seemed like Rohit Sharma might have forgotten something again. However, the Indian skipper was reportedly waiting there because of KL Rahul.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Rohit was seen standing at the door of the team bus and having a chat with a member of the support staff. Earlier, it was speculated that Rohit might have forgotten something which forced him to wait. However, the reason was something else.

KL Rahul’s delay forces Rohit Sharma to wait

According to TOI, KL Rahul was the last Indian player to leave the Dubai airport on the day. Rahul left the airport 20 minutes after the rest of the team due to some delay. As a result, the team left for the hotel and Rahul had to travel separately.

Rohit is reported to be waiting in the team bus and it seemed that he was trying to coordinate the delay regarding Rahul’s passport and other logistical arrangements. Being a captain, Rohit made sure that every player reached the hotel safely without any issues.

Rohit Sharma has a long history of forgetting important things like bags, headphones, and even passports during his travels. As a result, it was speculated that he might have forgotten something else this time around.

Team India lands in Dubai for the Champions Trophy

Team India arrived in Dubai on February 15 to take part in the Champions Trophy 2025. The team will hold a few net sessions before facing Bangladesh in their first match of the tournament to be played on February 20.

The first group of players and support staff, which involved the veteran cricketer Virat Kohli and head coach Gautam Gambhir, departed from Mumbai airport on Saturday (February 15) alongside captain Rohit Sharma.

The group also included the likes of Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana, and Arshdeep Singh. According to ANI, allrounder Hardik Pandya was the last player to join the squad in Dubai.

Among the coaching staff, bowling coach Morne Morkel, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate, and fielding coach T Dilip also traveled with the team. The team will get used to the conditions and will take part in several match simulations before beginning their campaign.

After facing Bangladesh on February 20, the Men in Blue will face arch-rivals Pakistan in a high-voltage encounter on February 23. India will finish their group stage with a match against New Zealand on March 2.

India will continue to play in Dubai even if they reach the knockouts as the tournament is being played in a hybrid model.
