Marnus Labuschagne is known for his hilarious antics on the field. Not only while he is batting, Labuschagne is a character even when he is fielding. On Day 4 of the Gabba Test, he took a dig at KL Rahul while sledging the allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy.
It happened when Reddy came out to bat on the fourth day of the Test. Nathan Lyon was bowling to him and he was surrounded by Australian fielders. Lyon bowled a ball down the leg side which Reddy left to the wicketkeeper Alex Carey.
The Australian fielders kept chirping around and Marnus Labuschagne joined them as well. “Slider leave, just like KL (Rahul), through the legs,” Labuschagne said as he took a dig at KL Rahul’s dismissal during the unofficial Test series between Australia A and India A.

KL Rahul was dismissed around his legs in an unusual manner as he left a ball and was bowled during the second unofficial Test, which was played just before the ongoing Test series. Labuschagne remembered that and didn’t leave a chance to take a dig at the Indian opener.
On the other hand, Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has been highly impressive with the bat this series, could score just 16 runs here. Reddy was bowled by Australia’s captain Pat Cummins.
KL Rahul’s brilliance at Gabba
Meanwhile, KL Rahul played a brilliant knock in the ongoing Test match. He came in to open the innings and weathered a strong Australian bowling performance that dismantled India’s batting line-up.
However, Rahul stood at one end and ensured to bind the innings together. He stitched together an important partnership of 67 runs with Ravindra Jadeja to bring the innings back on track. He was finally dismissed for 84 off 139 balls and struck 8 fours during his knock.
KL Rahul the best batter for India in BGT
KL Rahul has been India’s best batter of the series so far. He is currently the highest run-scorer of the series after Travis Head. Rahul has scored 231 runs in five innings at an average of 46.20.
Rahul wasn’t supposed to open the innings before the series but the absence of Rohit Sharma from the first Test prompted India to move him up the order. He took the opportunity with both hands and impressed with magnificent knocks at Perth. Since then, he has gone on to play impressive knocks for his side.
Coming to the match, Australia have dominated the game but India somehow managed to avoid the follow-on a the dying stages of Day 4. The last wicket stand of Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep played a key role. Bumrah and Akash have added 39 runs so far and are still unbeaten at the crease.
