India National Cricket Team keeper-batter Sanju Samson had a horrible time in the fourth game of the T20I series against the England National Cricket Team. The match between the two teams took place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Friday.
Sanju Samson, who had a poor outing with the bat in the match, saw his day getting worse in the field. The keeper-batter didn’t have a great day with the gloves as well, and this was evident during the fag end of the England National Cricket Team’s innings when he made a mess of Jamie Overton’s catch.
During the third ball of the 19th over, Harshit Rana bowled a slow ball that was full and outside off. Jamie Overton threw his arms at it and sliced it up in the air. It seemed that it would be an easy catch as Varun Chakravarthy, who was at short third man, had an easy chance.
However, Sanju Samson, with the gloves on, went back and there was almost a collision with Varun Chakravarthy. The spinner left it for the keeper-batter to take it but the keeper slightly over-ran and ended up making a mess of the catch, which thankfully didn’t prove to be costly.
What caught the attention of many was the reaction of Gautam Gambhir. The India National Cricket Team head coach, who was in the dugout, looked absolutely dejected and was fuming in anger.
