However, Warner didn’t have the kind of start he would’ve wanted for his innings. The batter was at the receiving end of a hilarious yet nasty blow at the start of the innings that left many in splits. The incident took place during the 4th over of the innings.

Riley Meredith bowled a full ball and Sydney Thunder skipper Warner went hard on the drive. He mistimed the shot to mid-off but what caught the attention of many was when the ball hit his bat, his bat broke with handle being displaced.

What was even more bizarre was the momentum of the bat swing, almost hitting him back on his head. Warner, at first, didn’t know what happened, and the play stopped for a while before the batter got his bat changed and continued batting.

Warner hardly has got support of other batters in the ongoing game. The opening batter got a bit of support from Sam Billings, who scored 28 runs, as the duo added 34 runs. The rest of the batters haven’t been able to go big.
