Star Indian batter Virat Kohli, known for his fiery instincts, gave an aggressive send-off to Australian opener Nathan McSweeney during the Day-Night Test match. Virat Kohli was pumped as Jasprit Bumrah dismissed the set Nathan McSweeney in the first session on Day 2 of the Test match in Adelaide.
Australia started the second day’s play at 86/1 with McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne at the crease in Adelaide on Saturday, December 7. The Indian bowlers failed to trouble the Australian batters on the opening day. Jasprit Bumrah was the lone wicket-taker, as he removed Usman Khawaja.

Jasprit Bumrah provided an early breakthrough for India on the second day. He removed Nathan McSweeney on the first ball of the 37th over. Bumrah bowled a short-of-a-good-length ball that straightened after pitching. McSweeney defended from the crease, but it took the outside edge of his bat.
Rishabh Pant completed the simple catch behind the stumps. Virat Kohli roared in delight and gave McSweeney a send-off while fielding at the slips. The Australian opening batter had to depart to the dressing room after scoring 39 runs off 109 balls. He added just one run to his overnight score.

Virat Kohli scored seven runs off eight balls in their first innings. The right-handed batter was dismissed when he attempted to leave a Mitchell Starc delivery outside the off-stump. However, Kohli was late in withdrawing his bat and edged the ball to Steve Smith, who took the catch at second slip.
Kohli will be hoping to score more runs in the second innings of the ongoing match. It’s worth mentioning that Kohli scored a century in the second innings of the Perth Test, where the Indian team secured an emphatic 295-run victory.
Nathan McSweeney Is A Gun – Kerry O’Keeffe
Nathan McSweeney took 17 balls to get off the mark and was dropped on three by Rishabh Pant. Former Australian spinner Kerry O’Keeffe praised McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne for their resilience, especially under the challenging conditions of pink-ball cricket.
“They were 33 of the toughest overs you’re going to get in Test cricket,” Kerry O’Keeffe said on Fox Cricket’s Test Match Daily before Day 2.
“Pink ball under lights. I thought they (McSweeney and Labuschagne) were fantastic … this guy (McSweeney) is a gun, he’s got leadership DNA in him.
“If he can get 100 today there may be a long-term future for N. McSweeney. He let the ball go as did Marnus … I thought it was fabulous, low percentage error rate batting from the two Australians.”
