The Gujarat Giants have made major changes to their coaching lineup ahead of the WPL 2025 auction. The Gujarat-based team has roped in Pravin Tambe as their new bowling coach for the Women’s Premier League 2025 after Nooshin Al Khadeer’s two-year contract ended.
Pravin Tambe came into the limelight after making his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut at the age of 41 with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2013. He is known for taking a hat trick against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2014 IPL. Pravin Tambe has previously worked with Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Pravin Tambe expressed his excitement about joining Gujarat Giants as their bowling coach. The former cricketer said that he is eager to work with the team and help enhance their skills for success.
“Joining Gujarat Giants as the Bowling Coach is an exciting new chapter in my cricketing journey. I’m eager to work with this talented group of players to sharpen their skills and help them excel,” Tambe said.
Daniel Marsh Joins Gujarat Giants as Batting Coach for WPL 2025 Season
The Gujarat Giants have also appointed Daniel Marsh as their new batting coach, alongside retaining Michael Klinger as head coach for the upcoming season. Klinger, who took charge from Rachael Haynes, previously coached Melbourne Renegades in the BBL and Sydney Thunder in the WBBL.
“We laid solid groundwork last season, and I’m excited to build on that with the talented players we have retained in the squad. Our focus remains on fostering a winning mindset and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve as a team. It is incredibly rewarding to see so many of our Gujarat Giants players representing India since last WPL season. This invaluable high-level experience will undoubtedly strengthen our squad for the upcoming season,” Klinger said.
“I’m excited to be joining the Gujarat Giants. I look forward to developing a fearless approach to our batting with the aim of making our team one of the strongest batting units of the WPL,” Marsh said.
Mithali Raj Steps Down as Mentor of Gujarat Giants
Daniel Marsh has a background in coaching the Tasmania Men’s team from 2013 to 2017 and served as assistant coach for the Australian Women’s Cricket Team in 2022. Meanwhile, former India cricketer Mithali Raj, who had been the Gujarat Giants’ mentor, decided to step down from her role with the team.
The Gujarat Giants, led by Beth Mooney, are the only team in the WPL to have missed the playoffs in both of the first two seasons. They finished bottom of the table in two consecutive seasons. Ahead of the 2025 auction, the franchise released all-rounder Sneh Rana, along with Lea Tahuhu and Kathryn Bryce.
