International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2024. The global cricket body has nominated India‘s Shreyanka Patil, South Africa’s Annerie Dercksen, Scotland’s Saskia Horley, and Ireland’s Freya Sargent.
South Africa’s Annerie Dercksen was one of the top performers for her team in all three formats of the game. She played 17 T20Is slammed 161 runs, and also bagged 5 wickets in 2024. Freya Sargent played 11 ODIs and 9 T20Is and made a huge impact for Ireland
Freya Sargent is the last nominee for the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2024. The Ireland player was at her best in the white-ball cricket, where she played 11 ODIs and 9 T20Is. She picked 13 and 7 wickets, respectively, in the two formats.
Her memorable performance came during the first T20I against England. She was impressive with the ball as she removed Bryony Smith, Mady Villiers, and Georgia Adams along with the run out of Charis Pavely. She finished with career-best T20I figures of 3/30.
