South Africa National Cricket Team have announced the playing XI for the second Test against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. The last match of the series between the teams will be played at St George’s Park in Gqeberha from Thursday (5th December).

South Africa National Cricket Team have made a few changes to their playing XI for the second Test against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. Ryan Rickelton will be back in the team in place of Wiaan Mulder while Dane Paterson will be replacing Gerald Coetzee.

Kwena Maphaka will have to wait for his Test cap as he wasn’t named in the South Africa XI for the second Test

This means that young Kwena Maphaka will have to wait for his Test cap. The rest of the team will be pretty much the same as what the Proteas fielded in the first game and will be hoping to carry on the same confidence going into the second match of the series.

Tony de Zorzi and Aiden Markram will be opening the innings for the team in the second game. Both the batters struggled to get going in the first game and would want to make a huge impact in the second match and help the South Africa National Cricket Team win.

Tristan Stubbs, Temba Bavuma, David Bedingham, Kyle Verreynne, and Ryan Rickelton will be the middle-order batters for South Africa in the second Test

Tristan Stubbs, who has been going through the purple patch in the Tests, is expected to take the No.3 spot. While skipper Temba Bavuma, who was the star batter for the team with his 70 and 113 in the first game, is likely to take the No.4 spot in Team.

David Bedingham and Kyle Verreynne, who failed in the first Test, would want to improve their batting effort. They are likely to be followed by Ryan Rickelton, who would want to make an impact in his first outing in the series and seal his place in the team in the format.

Marco Jansen, who was the main performer for the hosts with the ball with his 11 wickets in the first match, is expected to play a crucial role with the bat and ball for the team. Dane Paterson will be another pacer alongside Jansen and Kagiso Rabada while Keshav Maharaj will be the spinner.
