The Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match between Delhi and Railways gained significant attention due to Virat Kohli’s return after twelve years. However, Kohli’s comeback was short-lived as he was dismissed cheaply in the first innings on Day 2. Right-arm pacer Himanshu Sangwan was the bowler who took his wicket.
Sangwan was hit for a powerful straight drive by Kohli on the third ball of Delhi’s 28th over. Fans seemed to believe Kohli had well and truly arrived. However, on the very next delivery, Sangwan bowled a brilliant ball that breached the batter’s defense and rattled the stumps through the bat-pad gap.
Who is Himanshu Sangwan? His Performance Breakdown
Himanshu Sangwan was born in 1995 in Najafgarh, Delhi, the same locality as former cricketer Virender Sehwag. He began his cricket journey playing age-group Under-19 cricket for Delhi. He later switched to Railways for his First-Class career and has become a key player for the team.

However, his white-ball performances haven’t been as successful. Sangwan has played 17 List A matches, taking 21 wickets, and has taken five wickets in seven T20 matches. His best white-ball performance is 4 wickets for 44 runs.
