While skipper Heather Knight fought valiantly with a well-constructed 40 off 38 balls, no other batter managed to make a significant contribution. Danielle Wyatt scored 17, but the remaining batters faltered against Australia’s potent attack.
Georgia Wareham was the standout bowler for Australia, delivering a sensational spell of 4-0-11-3. Darcie Brown (2/25) and Annabel Sutherland (1/14) applied constant pressure, while Tahlia McGrath (1/4) and Megan Schutt (1/17) chipped in with crucial wickets.
